Sketch dump for a personal project I’m still working on, so here are some of the designs/ character sheets. More to come pretty soon!
Sketch of me and my boyfriend for a weekly sketch group, using the themes Love/Hate.
I still need to rework the lines a lot before I go and render this because I can see multiple problems with this drawing but I will changes those when I go back and work on this some more.
This was done in sai, the theme was taken from Toerning’s easy, hard challenge.
day one: Portrait / Action Pose for Toerning’s easy/ hard challenge.
This was the hard option for me; doing an action pose and drawing a male character was more than a little tricky because I am used to drawing things with boobs… It felt so wrong drawing something so flat chested!
Though all that being said I’m actually incredibly happy with how he is going, so I may just finish him in the near future :D
These are my very rushed series of images I had to do for my last university project, so I’m not happy with any of them except for the scowling big cat. All done in a mix of Sai and Photoshop, but next time I aim to do five full colour images in a week, I’ll try and not tackle a new program.
However disappointment aside, I did learn a lot about Photoshop so it wasn’t a waste and I did manage to practice perspective and composition.
Square, Circle, and Triangle style character design, for the excerpt ”Zobeide” from “Invisible Cities” by Italo Calvino. This is my first real attempt at this type of character design and I really struggled a lot at trying to keep the personalities of the shapes in a more rendered form.
Finished image of the two different Astrids’ from “Fringe”. I’ve been slowly working on it in my spare time, and finally had the energy to get the last couple of details done!
Astrid is one of my favorite characters, and I feel like she is criminally underused in the series so I can not wait to see the episode where A side her, and B side her finally get to meet!
As always drawn in Sai.
I’ve been feeling a tad fed up of working on the school brief, so decided to take a small detour today and draw Astrid Farnsworth from “Fringe” with her alternate B side self.
Astrid or better known as “Astro” is one of my favorite characters from “Fringe”, it often makes me feel really sad that someone so smart and adorable barely gets any screen time…
I still have a long way to go before it is even close to done, but hopefully there will be some free time between work and uni soon.
Last two coaster designs as part of the “Sense of Place” brief done in a 1920s travel poster style. I’m happy to finally have these done, time to focus on writing the evaluation and finishing up my RVJ for uni. This feels like freedom!
